RGB Protocol Association Recaps Bitcoin Asia and Origin Seoul
In late August, RGB Protocol Association took part in two Bitcoin events in Asia: Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong (August 27th-28th) and Origin Seoul (August 31st – September 2nd). Across panels, keynotes, and a side event, the Association engaged with institutions, builders, and the broader stablecoin conversation around RGB Protocol on Bitcoin.
In Brief
- Bitcoin Asia, Hong Kong: Birk Kayadibi joined the panel “Pragmatic Maximalism: The Market Wants Stablecoins,” then gave a keynote at The Night Shift side event the same evening
- Origin Seoul: RGB Protocol Association ran five sessions on the main stage, co-hosted a side event with Utexo and KaleidoSwap, and hosted a beer meetup for builders

Bitcoin Asia, Hong Kong
Bitcoin Asia ran August 27th-28th in Hong Kong.
Birkan Kayadibi, COO of the RGB Protocol Association, joined the panel “Pragmatic Maximalism: The Market Wants Stablecoins” on the Nakamoto Stage, addressing how real demand for stablecoins is shaping what gets built on Bitcoin.
On stage, Birkan made the case for why stablecoins and Bitcoin need each other.
Birkan Kayadibi, COO, RGB Protocol Association:
“The biggest stablecoin, USDT, was actually born on Bitcoin, on the Omni Layer, back in 2014, before moving to other chains for practical reasons. Stablecoins need Bitcoin, and Bitcoin needs stablecoins too.”
He pointed to privacy as the first reason why.
“With RGB, thanks to client-side validation, you keep all the data on the client side, which is very different from global consensus. Think about a big company or a bank that wants to send ten million dollars: they care whether that money is visible to everyone or not.”
The second reason, he added, is Lightning.
“You can use stablecoins peer-to-peer, with better privacy, and since Lightning is an interoperability layer across L2s, you can enable atomic swaps, which is something Tron simply cannot do.”
That same evening, Birkan gave a keynote, “USDT Coming to Bitcoin”, at The Night Shift, a side event presented by Treefinance and BiHelix at ALTO Bar & Grill. The lineup also featured BiBo Brooks (CEO, BiHelix), with KaleidoSwap joining as a guest.
The two appearances gave RGB Protocol Association a presence on the Bitcoin Asia main stage and at an evening industry event addressing the same topic.
Origin Seoul
Origin Seoul ran August 31st – September 2nd, with RGB Protocol Association’s main day of programming on September 1st.
Association members ran five consecutive sessions on the main stage, starting from the foundations, “RGB: What It Is and What It Makes Possible”, through to where the technology is evolving in the future, including a session on “When AI Agents Spend Bitcoin.”
The same day, the Association co-hosted a side event with Utexo and KaleidoSwap, featuring introductions, project updates, and a live technical demonstration. Food and drinks were shared, closing out RGB Protocol Association’s day in Seoul.
Separately, Walter of KaleidoSwap spoke at Seoul BitDevs, and the Association took part in Origin Seoul’s Industry Day, bringing together institutions, companies, and builders for a broader look at where Bitcoin adoption is heading.
